ODStatistics is a collection of Open Office Calc worksheets (version
3.0 or higher) that can be used to perform most of the most common
tasks in Data Analysis.
Installation
Simpy copy all the files that come compressed to a folder of your
computer, you can call this folder as you wish.
To start the software
Double-click over the "odstats.ods" file (maybe you see it without
the extension, that is just "odstats"), or used the procedure of
your computer to open programs at your operating system.
The set is composed by 8 worksheets of basic analysis, each one
designed to manage a particular combination of two types of basic
variables - Numerical (Num) or Categorial (Cat), and also time series
and index numbers. There are some other worksheets linked to the basic
ones. There are also some other worksheets to perform specific
tasks. The initial menu of ODStatistics looks as follows:
The different analysis have to be performed using this initial menu.
Do not open the other spreadsheets in the folder
directly, but using this menu. If you open these spreadsheets
directly, you can break their functionality and maybe you will need to
reinstall ODStatistics.
The summaries, diagrams and analysis for each type of data are updated
automatically, and therefore questions like "what type of graph do I
need for a categorical variable?" are not needed. Users can change
anything that is seen as
blue according to their needs.
How to obtain help within the software?
Within each worksheet it is possible to obtain help by double-clicking
over any red cell.
